Golf posts a top three finish at Huntingdon

After two sixth-place finishes to start the spring season, the team posted a third-place finish at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. The Quakers shot 590 over the two rounds to finish behind second ranked Huntingdon College (575) and top ranked Emory University (583). Junior James Mishoe started out the gate fast with finishing tied for first after the first round but a 76 on the second round dropped him to a share of third place. Louis Lambert shot 146 to place ninth. Josh Hill and Zachary Evens finished in 16th and 17th place, respectively.

Mishoe leads the team with an average of 70.89 strokes per round and is ranked as the number golfer in Division III by Golfstat.com. Hill has a stroke average of 72.74 and is ranked 16th.

The team will compete on April 20-21 at the Emory Spring Invitational in Stone Mountain, Ga. Head coach Adam Crawford and the team then travels to the ODAC Championship on April 28-30. The sixth-ranked Quakers will look to win their 18th title and eighth in the last nine years. Guilford will also compete in the NCAA Championship on May 14-17 hosted by Transylvania at the Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky. The Quakers have won two NCAA championship in its history.
