Person on the street: What is your favorite holiday tradition?

“My aunt throws a wassail party … People always think I’m saying that it’s a waffle party. My aunt lives in Connecticut, so it’s classic New England. There’s a big bonfire and it’s a potluck, so everybody just brings a lot of food and we hold it over the fire. There’s always an endless supply of cider and we would sing carols, but that’s not my favorite part. My favorite part is the bonfire. My whole extended family goes, as well as their neighbors. It’s a really nice time. ” Emma Ross, ’18 // Photo by Abigail AbantoHollans / The Guilfordian
