Community Senate Update
The Senate meeting this week included discussion of the new golf club, Undergraduate Research, the Center for Principled Problem Solving and the Career Development Center.
The golf club presented at Senate requesting to become a club, a resolution that passed. The golf club is looking to teach new players and be more recreational than competitive in nature.
The Undergraduate Research program enables students to conduct research and present at events. Upcoming events include the Guilford Undergraduate Symposium, set for April 22, 2016, and the Summer Research Scholars Program. The Center for Principled Problem Solving discussed department class offerings. These classes would be involved in some sort of community problem solving.
Lastly, Alan Mueller talked on behalf of Career Development Center and discussed the National Association of Colleges and Employers. This program helps students understand leadership and be able to work as a team to solve problems.
