This movie is an emotional rollercoaster where eight different plot lines of love in London collide, intertwine, and culminate on Christmas Eve.
“Love Actually” was written and directed by Richard Curtis, with hits like, “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” “Notting Hill,” and “Bridget Jones’ Diary.” His movies have been great successes in both the U.K. and the United States.
The cast was sensational with Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Alan Richman, Kiera Knightley, Martine McCutcheon, Bill Nighy, Rowan Atkinson, and a cameo appearance from Billy Bob Thorton. Well-known actresses and actors to lesser-known come together to form a movie about love, life, and everything in between.
The movie was the quintessential love movie of the Christmas season. “Most of ‘Love Actually’ is as bright and cheery as a string of Christmas lights,” said Eleanor Ringel Gillespie from the Atlanta Journal.
“Love Actually” describes all of the different loves we can experience in a lifetime while presenting a captivating reality and not distorting love in any way. It sent the simple message that love is actually all around us.
