Guilford musical ensembles perform in annual spring concert

On April 6, the Guilford College Music Department presented its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. in Dana Auditorium, with performances by the Guilford College Guitar Ensemble,  directed by Professor Kami Rowan, and the Guilford College Choir and Lumina Treble Ensemble, directed by Professor Wendy Looker.

Concert highlights included two Scottish tunes, arranged by Alan Hirsh and played by the Guitar Ensemble, a song composed for the Black Lives Matter Commissioning Project titled  “Say, say Yes!” performed by Lumina Treble Ensemble, and “I Will Sing,” the closing selection sung by the Guilford College Choir.

Before ending the concert with the choir’s last song, Looker took a few minutes to acknowledge the group’s 10 seniors that will graduate on May 18.  Each senior was given a yellow rose and congratulated on their accomplishments
