Quick Review: Manipulator by Ty Segall

Ty Segall continues to relentlessly pump out thrilling rock experiences, and no, he still hasn’t run out of ideas.  His music is straight out of the sixties; he belongs more with early Pink Floyd than anyone from this time period.  Manipulator displays vibrant psychedelic rock in an authentic style that has long been missed.  Segall’s guitar is a pulsing and wailing beast that no one can kill; it spits out heavy riffs and wonky chord progressions with ease.  Cynical lyrics sneer at insincerity and deception just like Segall sneers at pretty art rock with his heavy, energetic, kickass music.
