Guilford College bears the taint of drug abuse. The drug at fault is not crack, nor marijuana, heroin, or even alcohol. No, Guilford students, like students everywhere, are mired in the vicious cycle of educational intoxication.
The most highly addictive drug known today goes by obscene street names such as “thought” and “knowledge.” Our nation’s youth are tempted by Education’s empty promises of power, economic success, a ‘future,’ the meaning of life – even freedom! – never realizing the horrific irony of their actions.
Education is a most cruel master, leading every user into willing slavery.
Even purely experimental use of Education spells an end to all autonomy and self-sufficience. It takes only one Thought to get hooked, and education junkies invariably degenerate into pathetic slaves willing to stoop to any level of masochism to fuel their consuming addictions.
A junkie cannot make it through the day without Thought. He uses it shamelessly: in grocery stores, restaurants, cars, gas stations, churches, even schools. His need is such that he is willing – again and again – to sacrifice his health, happiness, and fortune for one more joyride of Thought.
How can you spot such Education addicts? Watch for these classic signs displayed by many junkies: large, incomprehensible vocabularies; collections of Thought paraphernalia (books, pens, and papers); growing tendencies to argue the Other side of a dilemma.
Other telltale signs include the half-closed eyes and preoccupied expression typical of those lost in Thought, and, in severe cases, bodily deformity. Studies of Education abusers show its repulsive physical side effects; addicts are characterized by their swelled heads perched atop frail, withered bodies, with wrinkled, myopic eyes and useless appendages.
This physical decay hints at the most serious effect of Education reign, its ravaging of sexual relations. An abuser’s libido is the first in a long string of bodily failures, which eventually leave a junkie incapable of reproducing or procuring a mate.
The epidemic spread of Education across our noble, ignorant country affects us all. Each youth that gets hooked on its destructive influence is a youth that will not continue our race.
I implore you, for the sake of future generations, be alert. Monitor your loved ones closely. Intervene at the first sign of possible addiction. Abstinence is the only true prevention, friends; if you never try, you can never get hooked.
