When my family moved to Greensboro twenty years ago, the name of the city was an honest description. It was indeed Greens-boro. Before the turn of the decade, generations grew up with an abundance of playgrounds, lakes, and deep forests to grow youthfully in. The citizens shared the city with the wildlife and fought for preservation. Unfortunately, we have advanced quickly and sadly along with the rest of the world.
I never could have imagined our town would be invaded with this amount of apartment complexes and shopping centers. What happened to Benjamin Parkway and Battleground? Thank you for doing a story on this terrible proposal. Guilford College campus is the place where I love to relax in quiet bliss. The surrounding privacy is what makes it so special.
If we allow this Dolly Madison proposal to pass, we should only expect more developers to follow. I am appalled the vote was already so close. Let's create a petition to persuade these greedy individuals to leave our beautiful neighborhood alone.
