Leadership Techniques, Training Offered in Seminar Next Spring

“Join a Tradition of Leadership.” Every year students are called to become leaders, necessary members of the Guilford community who enjoy the many benefits of being a leader. There is still time to register for the Leadership Seminar (GST 250), which is required in order to become a CHAOS Leader or a Residence Advisor (RA).

Interested students are encouraged to talk to Leslie Moss in her office behind the Information Desk in the lobby of Founders Hall.

The class will meet from 7:25-10:10 pm every Tuesday next semester.

“[The class will be] focusing on leadership as a general topic at first,” said Leslie Moss. “Leadership styles, definitions, skills, things like that.”

Later in the class, the focus will shift to leadership techniques and training to prepare the CHAOS Leader and RA candidates for their possible positions next year.

Taking the class does not guarantee a position as an RA or CHAOS Leader. In addition to taking the class, anyone who wants to be an RA or CHAOS Leader must apply and be selected in February. Students can apply for both positions, but you may only serve as one per year.

Both CHAOS Leaders and RAs return to school earlier in the summer than do most students. For CHAOS Leaders, this means training, a retreat, and Avanti. RAs prepare the halls for the new year as well as participating in a Fall Leadership Seminar.

Any questions about CHAOS Leaders can be directed to Leslie Moss at x2388. Questions about becoming an RA may be directed to Joe Vereen in Campus Life at x2101.
